Hello,
Does anyone know if there is any documentation regarding the preservation of the cached Exchange mode OST files in Outlook during a cross-forest mailbox move?
Our working scenario is transitioning from a native Exchange 2003 environment to a resource forest running Exchange 2007 SP1 for 1500 users. We've noticed that in some cases the Outlook client will behave quite normally after finding its new server (this is especially true for Outlook 2007 using Autodiscover), but this isn't always the case. We have had clients configured to use cached mode that were stuck in online mode after the migration, which we corrected by deleting the old OST files from the client. We have many large mailboxes in the field behind slow connections and would like to reduce the number of OST seeds required. The client profile is a mix of Outlook 2003 SP1+ through Outlook 2007 SP1.
We've also noticed that rules no longer work properly after migration in some cases.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
