Installed 2010 SP3 Over the Weekend; What is the PowerShell-Proxy VDir?

Hi All,
I finally installed SP3 (and UR 6) for Exchange 2010 on my servers over the weekend (I know...I don't want to hear about how late to the game I am.  We had a legacy archive product that didn't work with SP3).  After the install I noticed the PowerShell-Proxy virtual directory.

What is the purpose of this virtual directory?  I cannot find any documentation on it (at least with a few search engines).

Reason I ask is that we utilize AirWatch as our MDM solution and it stopped working after installing SP3.  The process flow is such: Users install the AirWatch app, which adds the device to Exchange (quarantined).  AirWatch then whitelists users' devices as long as the user is a member of a specific security group using a PowerShell command.
In the past we had to enable Windows Authentication on the PowerShell v-dirs of the CASes.  After installing SP3 I notice that Windows Authentication on the "Normal" PowerShell directory has disabled, but the new PowerShell-Proxy v-dir has it enabled.  Additionally, the PowerShell-Proxy v-dir doesn't have an Internal URL specified.

So what is the purpose of this new v-dir, and why doesn't it have an Internal URL specified?  Should I enable Windows Authentication on the standard PowerShell v-dir like I had before, or should I specify an Internal URL and point AirWatch at that instead?

Any insight is welcome.  Thanks in advance!
