Hi All,

I need your assistance in re configuring my Exchange Server 2007 SP3 Mailbox CCR Cluster for the migration project from one Office location to another Hosting provider with different IP address VLAN and class.

Mailbox CCR servers existing configuration:

  • PRODMBX1.domain.com – Mailbox Production Active Node 1
  • IP: 10.1.17.5
  • VLAN: 17
  • AD Site: HQ-CapitalCity-Site-1
  • DRMBX1.domain.com – Mailbox Recovery Passive Node 1
  • IP: 10.1.12.2
  • VLAN:12
  • AD Site: DR-RegionalCity-Site-1

During the upgrade I will failover the mailbox Server into the DRMBX1 as the primary CMS to resume the company mail service.

And then I do the IP address reconfiguration of the PRODMBX1 manually in the Windows Network Adapter properties and followed by rebooting the server.

After the migration Mailbox CCR servers:

  • PRODMBX1.domain.com – Mailbox Production Active Node 1
  • IP: 10.188.20.21
  • VLAN: 20
  • AD Site: HQ-CapitalCity-Site-1
  • DRMBX1.domain.com – Mailbox Recovery Passive Node 1
  • IP: 10.1.12.5
  • VLAN: 12
  • AD Site: DR-RegionalCity-Site-1

I assume that as soon as the replication from DRMBX1 into PRODMBX1 has finished, the CCR replication should flows from PRODMBX1 into DRMBX1 as normal.

Are there any steps that I need to do to ensure that the change is replicated back from DRMBX1 into PRODMBX1 once the IP address has changed?
