Most of the discussion's that I have found relate to adding a secondary server to a DAG setup. We don't utilize DAG because we already have High Availability within a 3-Host VMWare vSphere Cluster.

Hello, everyone.
I'm relatively new to the world of server management. Our current network was set up by the previous IT team, none of which are with the company any more. I had a question about the way our current mail server is set up. We only have one mail server, but we have two different email domain names. For example, we have someone@company1.com and someoneelse@company2.com, and both @company1.com and @company2.com are managed by the same Exchange server. There is only one domain for the computers. I was just wondering how something like this is set up and accomplished, because we are looking to upgrade to Exchange Server 2013 sometime in the next few months.
Also, is there a way that I can confirm that this is in fact how it's set up? Thank you in advance for your help.
I have migrated over to Exchange 2010(server2008) from Exchange 2003(SBS2003). I've also already run the uninstall for exchange 2003 on the old SBS 2003 server. The old server itself is still running but exchange has been removed and once I get this fixed I plan to fully remove the old SBS server.
I now get event ID 5020 and 5006 throughout the day on the new server. From what I've read, this happens because the old routing group connectors still exist.
If I run Get-ExchangeServer I get

Am I correct in assuming that the way to fix this now is to go into ADSI edit and delete records under CN=First Administrative Groups? As in delete CN=Routing Groups and CN=Servers and everything under both of those? I'd try this myself but I'm not aware of any way to restore those records easily if I'm wrong.

Hi everybody,
could you please help me to solve the below issue:
I'm trying to remove Full Access rights for one user from an
existing user's mailbox... Exchange 2007 SP1. When I try to do so, I
receive the following error message:

Error:

please note that I can remove the "send as permission" for the same user on the same mailbox!!!

Hi,
We moved a domain's email to our servers. They had been running Exchange 2010. We migrated PST files, changed MX records, stopped all exchange services on their server and reconfigured the Outlook clients. They have a single Exchange 2010 server located in a mixed 2008 / 2003 AD environment. I want to properly decommission this server, but all the articles I find are for coexistence or moving to Office365. Does anyone know if I need to start the services and remove the individual mailboxes first, or should I just uninstall exchange from Add/Remove programs? What is the proper way to completely remove exchange?
Thank you for your assistance with this.
Adam
Need some recommendations for export to PST of Notes mail data and local archives > PST.
I'm aware of the Quest offerings and have used QNME in previous migrations, however this particular migration warrants the export of all Source data to PST only - without any coexistence etc.
IF anyone can reccomend offerings outside of Quest i'd like to hear experiences.
TIA.
I have two 2010 Mailbox Servers and I am getting this error on both servers when I try to apply SP3. Fails with the same error on the Mailbox role.
I am not sure what I am looking for here. Any help would be great.
Thanks in Advance.

I have a cert from godaddy witch is a wild card cert... *.mydomain.com
I have dns a records on godaddy from x.mydomain.com and webmail.mydomain.com
my internal domain is mydomain.local and my server is y.mydomain.local
when I htps://x.mydomain.com I get
You attempted to reach x.mydomain.com, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications.
from Ie it asks me to install a certificate and its self assigned cert mydomain.x.local and not my wildcard on from godady.
Thanks
Hello... we have a customer that your infrastructure is:
Forest A: User Forest
Forest B: Resource forest. This forest have the user maiboxes in Exchange 2010, with linked mailbox to the users in the User Forest
The customer want to move (or migrate) the mailboxes to another Exchange 2010 in another Resource forest.
Is possible to migrate this mailbox from the actual Resource Forest to the new Resource forest? what is the better procedure to do this?
Thank you for your help.

Hi All,
I have an existing running Exchange 2007 SP3 RU13 server acting as MB,CAS,Transport using a Barracuda SPAM for SMTP (MX Record is assigned to here), and a TMG2010 server performing all ActiveSync, Outlook Anywhere, and OWA connectivity.
I have built a new Exchange 2013 SP1 server that will (for the meantime) act as a MB & CAS server only.
I successfully migrated a testuser mailbox to the new EX2013 server from the EX2007 server. The problem is that once migrated, OWA and Outlook can't access the mailbox.
OWA form our URL gives the message: Outlook Web Access is currently unavailable. If the problem continues, contact technical support for your organization and tell them the following: No Client Access servers of the appropriate version can be accessed from the Internet
If I run OWA from the EX2013 URL it works ok, but not for MBs on the EX2007 server.
I tested this configuration in a VM lab and it worked ok. All I had to do was move the mailbox, then run Outlook. Outlook automatically found the new server and opened the MB.
Basically what I need to do is move all our existing MBs from the old 2007 server to the new 2013 server. I want to continue to use the exisiting transport/CAS/EDGE services on 2007 without having to rebuild both the internal and external comunications infrastructure at the present time.
How can I get the EX2013 server to act as the MB server for the EX2007 communications infrastructure?
I am trying to get an Edge server running in my Exchange 2010 org but I'm not having much luck. I have temporarily set up the Edge server on my Intranet so that there is nothing but a switch between my Transport box and my Edge box. No joy.
I have gone through the process of creating the EdgeSubscriptionInfo file and setting up the subscription on the transport box. When I execute a "start-synchronization" on my transport box, I get an error stating "Unable to contact the EdgeSync service". When I check the services on the box, I find that the service is not running. But, if I try to start it, it starts and immediately stops with the message that some services do that. No error, just an explanation.
I tried running the Exchange BPA but the results were a bit odd. For example, it errors on the Edge box stating that RUS isn't configured and then give instructions for an earlier version of Exchange (2003, I think, but it may be 2007) on how to configure RUS. Not much help.
I did have it running for a bit but I had another problem. If an email was received that was using one of my non-primary domains, it was rejected as user unknown so I had to shut it down. The address was legit (I have 5 domains that I receive email on and any one user can be registered on any or all of them) but it was still rejected.
So, what am I doing wrong? Is there a document somewhere that can help me set this thing up?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
Since all email from my domain should originate on my Exchange box, I would like to block all incoming email that has my domain in the sender's address. Is this possible? I know that I can block incoming email by domain but it wasn't clear if blocking my own domain would effect internal email or not. A lot of spammers use the target domain in their address so I would like to block all of that garbage.
Thanks
Need to export all mail from lotus notes to outlook 2003? is it possible if yes, how do i do that?
Hi:
I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 virtual server running Exchange 2010. Disk 0 has C: volume (Windows install) and D: volume (Exchange install). Though Exchange is installed on D:, C: still contains C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\TransportRoles\data
I need to increase size of C: volume. I can easily add unallocated space to Disk 0 but Windows will not allow me to Extend C: to non-contiguous space. I have read of 3rd party products that will extend C: in this case but am leary.
So, I figure best configuration is to create/add a Disk 1 from the virtual datastore, then move D: volume from Disk 0 to Disk 1. How do I move D: volume with Exchange install?
Thank you!
