Hi, I am trying to install exchange 2010 sp3 trail in my Lab. During installation for CAS role I'm getting errors for prerequisites which are referring to kb973136,kb977592,kb977624,kb979099,kb979744,kb982867,kb979917  . However i'm not able to find these KBs on Microsoft's site. It seems that their pages have been removed. Can somebody help to get these KBs or is there any other way around.

Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 8v2 causes client connectivity issues

I installed SP3 Rollup 8v2 this weekend, going from 7. Since then we are having random client connectivity issues. New profiles can't be created, and some users can't access resources when booking meetings. We can do a registry fix to their machines to add a DS Server, but this is a workaround only. I have uninstalled the Rollup 8v2 and we are still having the issue.

I thought 8v2 was supposed to fix this issue!

Exchange Resource Forest - SP2 to SP3 schema update

I am planning to upgrade from Exchange 2010 SP2 to SP3 for the purpose of migrating to Exchange 2013 later on. Exchange is installed in a separate Exchange Resource Forest with linked mailboxes to users in several other trusted forests.

I understand that the SP3 upgrade involves a schema update to Active Directory, but I am unsure whether I should apply the schema update to these trusted forests or not.

The documentation (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125224(v=exchg.141).aspx) states that the schema update should be applied to any domains that contains mail-enabled users. But are the users in the external forests mail enabled or is it only the corresponding disabled user object in the resource forest that is mail enabled?

Do I need to apply the schema update to the external trusted forests or not?

Any help is much appreciated.

Exchange 2010 Active Sync issues

I know I've posted a lot lately, but the issues keep rolling in with this upgrade.   Since upgrading to Exchange 2010, I have 2 users ( that have come forward thus far) saying they are unable to add exchange mail back onto their phones.  When I go into EMC to look at it and right-click on the uses it shows the option to manage mobile device.  Usually when there is no device paired, that option doesnt come up.  When I go into manage mobile device, it shows that there is no device listed.  If I run Get-ActiveSyncDeviceStatistics -Mailbox:"alias" I get the same result.  It shows no device.  I think this is locking the user out somehow from being able to add exchange back onto their mobile device.   I have also tried removing their email box from the server, then re-attaching it.  I get the same results each time.  They can add exchange to their phones, but when it tries to download mail it gets "Cannot get mail.  Connection to the server failed."  Even after they were able to add their account into their phone.

Is it possible to crop an image in the body of a message in Outlook 365?

$

I want to grab a quick screen shot to give someone directions to complete a task.  I don't want them to see the whole screen, just the small portion they need to see for the information they need.  The picture pastes into the body of the message okay, but I cannot find the crop tool to reduce the picture to what I need.  Searching the forums has shown only how to reduce the size of the image which is inadequate.  In Outlook 2010 this was a native feature, it seems to be removed in Outlook 365.  As Outlook 365 is poor in handling images, (you can't add one to a signature for example), is this another graphics tool that has been downgraded?  If anyone can advise me on whether I am just not doing this correctly or if this feature has indeed been removed it would be much appreciated.  (Using Win 7, Firefox V37, Chrome V42),

Exchange 2010 OWA access on internal LAN login form not working as expected

hi

We have exchange 2010 sp3 installed and working. we have two sites

Site a

1 x CAS

2 X MBX

Site b

1 x cas

2x mbx

site A is the primary site we currently publish owa our through our TMG server located in the DMZ this is working as expected and carries out the forms authentication. our internal domain is company.local but our external domain is company.com we have created split DNS so that we could use a wildcard cert and to deal with CA new rules. All URL's in Exchange are configured to use the external reference of company.com/

on the IIS server we have a redirection on the root of the site to redirect the requests through to OWA folder and we have basic Authentication enabled. on the OWA folder we have basic and windows authentication.

The problem we have is that when users try to access OWA internally we get username and password box appears once you login with this it then takes you through to the the normal login screen and you have tyo login again I'm thinking that this is the windows authentication that is causing this but not sure?

also would be good to get an understanding as to what the Authentication, SSL and redirection setting should be set to on your CAS servers as looking at the ECP and autodiscover folder within IIS this currently has a redirect set to go to OWA surely that cannot be right,

thanks

How do I export public folder data from inactive exchange server?

$
0
0
I have migrated from SBS2003 (old) to SBS2008 (new)

Used migration wizard / answer etc...  All went well, expect for the public folders; which failed.

Question: How do I retrieve the public folder information from the OLD (inactive) server and import it to the NEW server?

The OLD server has been removed from the domain. I have backups of the OLD server and its original hard drive; where the public store info is located.

I tried PDDAVAdmin.exe; did not work for me.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Hi

Recently we are having problems with receiving emails, it seems like they take an hour to come through. This is only happening to a few of our customers and selected users. From checking the headers we know the delay is getting stuck at e.mailcontrol.com.e.mailcontrol.com is actually websense which is nothing to do with us. We cant seem to find a pattern but from looking into the event viewer we have a load of errors. I am unsure what these errors are and if this is what is causing the delays for emails coming in and going out. (mainly going out)...Could someone please help me with these two errors?

Been searching forums for some time, and I am hoping I am in correct place.

User (new) on Windows SBS 2008 set up, with E-Mail

User can send and receive E-Mail on Outlook 2010 within domain no problem.

User can send E-Mail outside Domain, no problem.

User cannot receive E-Mail sent from outside Domain.  (Odd, but true)

Log of what Outside sender receives back below.  Have run out of ideas to try, and I'm am looking to be pointed in the correct direction.  Could you please steer toward a path to help me resolve this?  I changed name to user, and external E-mail to outside.  The entire message is otherwise not modified.  This is the only user this happens.  We added a new user last week, no issues...

Outside sender gets the following back:

Can't change addresses via "Set As Reply"

We recently transitioned from Exchange 2003 to 2007 and everything is working fine except one: When I open the properties of a Mailbox in the Exchange Management Console and go to Email addresses, I cannot change the default email address for anyone... the "Set as Reply" button is grayed out.

I thought this might have something to do with not upgrading the "Default Address Policy", so I poked around and found this http://elfassy.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!FD62C6C24A55FED4!293.entry

I followed the directions to "upgrade" my default address policy but "Set as Reply" remains grayed-out. Prior to this I would get an error when trying to open "Default Policy" under Organization Config | Hub Transport | Email Address Policies and now a wizard runs instead, but I have no idea what to do in that wizard.

How do I get this fixed? I simply want things to work as they did in Exchange 2003... I don't want/need to add a fancy address policy or anything.

Is it possible to setup a 2012 server with the 2010 exchange tools to run the following "get-user -identity xxxxx | enable-mailbox -database xxxxx"

From what I have read, I can't install the Exchange 2010 management tools on Windows Server 2003 or 2012. IS there another way. I can track down a windows 2008R2 server if necessary

I am also wondering if I need the entire management tool installation. Can't I install a power shell snap in to do this?

FYI, The issue is that Exchange 2010 will not use our MIIS server attribute to enable a user with email. So our security department has been running SQL to get a list of new users entered in the last 3 days and then pasting the command into a Citrix Powershell session to run the command. I have been tasked to automate it. My plan is to write the SQL to create build the command, write it to a text file and then hopefully pass the script to powershell to add the new mail user.

I am open to suggestions.

Thanks

Phil

Public Folders after 2007 to 2010 Migration

I am unable to move public Folders from 2007 to 2010. Will not replicate nor can I create or use any new Public Folders on the 2010 server. Every other part of the migration has been completed and the system is working well.

Is there anything that I might be missing in order to move Public Folders to 2010?

Exchange 2010 Re-creating PowerShell virtual directory with multiple exchange and iis servers.

Hello,

Exchange 2010

How can I re-create a PowerShell Virtual Directory with multiple exchange and IIS servers?

Using: New-PowerShellVirtualDirectory -Name Powershell -RequireSSL:$False ---- ON Exchange1

Results: Message - PowerShell exists on Exchange2.

I wanted to create the PowerShell Virtual Directory on Exchange1. Exchange 2013 has a -Server argument but 2010 doesn't.

Is there a similar argument for 2010 that doesn't show in the cmdlets?

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125176(v=exchg.141).aspx

Thanks,

Robert
